One of the most difficult decisions I had to make in my life was choosing which psychiatrist to go to. Ariel not only helped me with the difficult decision but also correctly diagnosed me to continue with the mixed treatment. I am so relieved that he could accompany me at a time that was so difficult for me! I would recommend him without hesitation as a great psychologist.

I have been seeing Ariel for almost 2 years and he has helped me a lot. Before I knew about Ariel, I was going through a very difficult time in my life. I couldn’t understand what I had in my head. He helped me interpret the meaning of my mood and what was causing so much disruption. From there, we worked together until I was able to move forward.

My Focus

Throughout my years as a psychologist, I have worked in very diverse places: hospitals, schools, prisons, offices, and family courts. The diversity of mental conflicts that I have faced has led me to the need to equip myself with different tools to be able to adequately address each one of them. That's why I academically trained in psychoanalysis, but then also adopted the cognitive-behavioral perspective and then the systemic one. My goal is to be able to help the person who requests it, with the most appropriate tool for the conflict that brings them to therapy. If we work, for example, on a couple's conflict, I believe the systemic approach will be the most appropriate. If anxiety (the great disease of our modern world), self-esteem or social adaptation are at the center of the conflict, the cognitive-behavioral model can give us more and better tools. If we face obsessive conflicts, repetitive thoughts or compulsive impulses, going back in time, through psychoanalysis, will probably help us find old biographical frameworks that support such instability and emotional conditions. What may seem eclectic is, in my opinion, the best way to get to the bottom of the same essential question that always leads us to therapy: How can I live better and enjoy my life more intensely, in the midst of the restrictive conditions in which I have to do it? I am ready to help you go through that path of inner liberation and personal fulfillment.

My Experiences

The problems of the human psyche are complex and comprehensive: from traumatic experiences that marked us to existential questions, passing through the enormous influence that relational conflicts have on us. This complexity is the reason why new schools and orientations in psychotherapy are constantly emerging. We can say that each individual problem requires a different approach; professional training should be able to solve this problem. In the 90s, while serving as a volunteer in the Frankfurt Women's Prison, I understood something that still frames my work in the consulting room. The women's pavilion where I worked was mainly composed of Latin American women, most of them mothers, who were about 12,000 km away from their children, in an unknown country, with a completely foreign language and culture

Some women were weighed down by depression, while others, many others, found something positive in a seemingly unfavorable situation. The genuine smiles and enthusiasm of these women, despite the contrasting setting, were a surprising and mysterious discovery for me.

The core topic that patients in therapy discuss is summed up by the question, "How can one live and fully enjoy life amidst the constraints that we often face?" Asking this question and seeking answers to it is the essential aspect of therapy.

Therapy can help you better manage your day-to-day life, whether that means finding ways to manage stress or making sure you have the emotional resources you need on hand when you need them most.

Mental health should be a priority when it comes to quality of life. I offer accompaniment through individual or couples therapy sessions, as well as group sessions for families or friends. I also offer services for those who are experiencing emotional problems but are uncomfortable in traditional therapy settings or do not have access to mental health providers who specialize in their specific issues.
