Therapy
I see people by video call who live anywhere in the world. Many are Spanish speakers outside Argentina: people who emigrated and want to do therapy in their own language, or who simply found an approach here that resonates with them. If you are considering starting, these are the questions I am always asked.
In most cases, yes. After more than twenty years working both ways, and with what the research of the last decade shows, I can say that for anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship conflicts and crises of meaning the difference is much smaller than one imagines before trying it. What sustains therapy is not the physical space: it is the bond, continuity and the work between sessions. That travels well through a screen. There are situations where in-person is advisable —serious conditions that require close clinical follow-up, or moments of risk— and in those cases I will tell you directly and help you find someone in your city.
Any. I regularly work with clients in Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, the United States and several European countries. There is no restriction: a stable connection and a place where you can talk comfortably is enough. In addition to Spanish, I see clients in German, English and French.
I see clients Monday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Argentina time (UTC−3). So that you don’t have to do the math:
My morning is your afternoon: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. here is 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. there, depending on the time of year.
My afternoon is your morning: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. here is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Mexico City.
Subtract two hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. here is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. there.
East Coast: subtract one or two hours depending on the time of year (daylight saving): 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. here is 8–9 a.m. to 7–8 p.m. there. West Coast: subtract four or five hours: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. here is 8–9 a.m. to 4–5 p.m. there.
The schedule is practically the same.
We always find a time slot. Write to me and we’ll coordinate it.
45-minute sessions by video call. The usual frequency is weekly, although in some processes we work every two weeks. We use Google Meet or WhatsApp, as you prefer, with nothing complicated to install. Before starting we hold a first admission interview, where you tell me what brings you and we see together whether I can help you and with which approach.
You can pay from abroad by international transfer through Wise, without needing an account in Argentina. We coordinate fees by WhatsApp before the first consultation. I do not work with health insurance plans, but I can issue a receipt if your coverage reimburses therapy abroad.
Message me on WhatsApp telling me briefly what brings you and where you are writing from. I answer personally, we arrange the first interview and then we see how to continue. You don’t need to be clear about what is happening to you: that is part of what we will find out together.
